To raise public awareness against deception, the Western District Police Community Relations Office, together with the Crime Prevention Office of Hong Kong Island Regional Headquarters, Central and Western District Councillor Mr. Yeung Hoi-wing, MH, and Ms. Yeung from New City Services Management Limited, conducted an anti-deception publicity activity yesterday (October 12) across private residential areas around Belcher's Street and Sands Street.
As a police-community partner, New City Services Management Limited actively co-operated with the police to promote anti-deception messages. They assisted in displaying publicity posters and flyers within building premises and conveyed the latest anti-scam information to frontline security personnel, enhancing their ability to identify scams. The police also reminded security staff to immediately help residents call the "Anti-Scam Helpline 18222" if they suspect a resident is being scammed.
During the event, police officers and representatives from New City Services Management Limited distributed anti-deception flyers to local residents, explained common scam tactics, and appealed to the public to remain vigilant at all times and stay alert to fraud.
📢 Remember the three anti-deception rules: "Don't listen, don't believe, don't transfer."
If you have any doubts about incoming calls, text messages, or online communications, please immediately call the "Anti-Scam Helpline 18222" for inquiries and assistance.
